Test weights for vehicle testing
The required quantity, weight groups and positions are checked against the available weights and vehicle access before mobilisation.

Trimova specialises in the operational handling of test and ballast weights for rail-vehicle testing. Our teams work according to the load plan and instructions supplied by the responsible engineers.
Trimova field system
Vehicle access, load state, protection and test sequence are treated as one connected operating system.
The required quantity, weight groups and positions are checked against the available weights and vehicle access before mobilisation.
Weights are transferred into the vehicle using agreed routes, protective measures and suitable handling methods, then positioned according to the approved load plan.
During a test programme, weights may need to be moved, added or removed at short notice. Trimova carries out the physical change after instruction from the technical project team.
After testing, all weights are removed, counted and returned to the agreed storage or handover area.
Vehicle interiors, ramps, thresholds and sensitive components are protected. Weight, manual-handling limits, lifting aids and communication procedures are agreed for the site.
Published Trimova projects include handling 809 test weights with approximately 16.1 tonnes and 1,323 weights with approximately 26.5 tonnes. These figures describe operational handling, not the technical test result.
Test weights are often supplied by the client or test facility. Technical responsibility for target distribution, measurements and release remains with the responsible engineering organisation.
